This collection is my tribute to the late great Mark E Smith who sadly died a few days ago. I imagine most old Fall fans, on hearing of his passing, will listen to their earlier albums, but I've been a dedicated fan for 35+ years and I decided to concentrate on some of my favourite songs since the turn of the century. Maybe much of their later work wasn't of the high standard of those early days, many dismiss anything they recorded after the 1980s, but for me there were always at least 3 or 4 excellent songs on (almost) every studio album they released. I hope you all enjoy this collection of songs, and sink a beer or two in memory of the genius that was Mark Edward Smith.

20 pints and several whiskey chasers in honour of MES
Cheerz
Was looking for a rar/zip of New Facts Emerge and found yr handy dandy comp instead. Looks like a well picked mix. I'm still in mourning over MES dying but at least he's no longer ill. He really looked bad these last few months and was heart breaking to see. The Fall always be tops for me, no matter what. Just got the Cherry Red Singles Box a while back and it's as good an argument for their superiority, in RnR terms as any. RIP MES!
Thanks very much. RIP the great man!
Thanks for this Fall comp. Not a fan of everything they've done but they hit the spot (or the North) more often than not. Cheers!
I like your choices! For me it's difficult to listen to the albums in full from "Fall Heads Roll" onward, but there are many great songs mixed in with those that are less inspired. I fully agree with Joel Rizzo that, while I miss MES and will always love The Fall, at least he is no longer suffering.
I started a blog recently, and the first few posts are Fall-related. Please have a look: jonderblog.blogspot.com
