A few months back, after compiling my Jimmy Campbell anthology, I was wondering which band hasn't had a proper "best of" released. The band featured here I never even considered, until a conversation with my good pal Moonglum last weekend brought up their name. Sure there's been plenty of live albums and collections of rarities, but never a proper collection from their studio albums. For this collection I purposely avoided most of the novelty/"comedy" songs they've recorded over the years, and have featured at least one track from all their studio albums plus a couple of B-sides.

Songs from the Bottom of a Well - Volume 5

This originally started as a series of streaming mixes, which can be found here. The idea for this series began when I was asked by a good pal of mine to make a dark/aggressive mix. While it was fun to do, I felt for further volumes I'd ditch the aggressive and go for a more moody/dark direction. I've now decided to make these downloadable compilations, but unlike on mixcloud these tracks won't merge into each other but be standalone tracks. The most recent will be my first posted here, then I shall work my way backwards to the original mix which I will change substantially by removing the aggressive numbers and replacing accordingly. This is a bit of an indulgence, but I hope some of you will enjoy! By the way, the first three tracks on this volume were inspired by a dream I had, then I took it from there...
